We had a giant adventure on Wednesday. Emma's Mama and I took the girls to a Washington Nationals baseball game. It was as much an adventure for me as it was for The P. The Dada's couldn't come so we did it all on our own.
The adventure started out with a ride in Emma's car. We strapped The P's carseat in and the girls got to ride next to each other to the Metro station. They held hands and were so sweet!
Then we rode an escalator down into the "tunnel" to catch a "train" to the stadium. It was crowded on the Metro, but the girls got their own seat on the first train. On the second train we had to hold them in the aisle amongst the other fans and commuters.
We made it to the stadium just in time for the National Anthem. We headed into the park and found our seats...way on the opposite side, and way up high (that's what you get for $10). It worked out great since the girls and I were there more for the people watching than the game. They shared a seat, flirted with the people around us, cheered for the Presidents' race, and ate snacks the entire time.

Before leaving the park to go home, we decided to let them play on the playground. 2 minutes we said... What a bad idea! Little did we know that the playground was really meant for older kids. It consisted of a series of tunnels 10 feet above the ground. The kids were pretty safe (it wasn't like they were going to fall out) but they had no idea how to get back down once they were up there. It was like a science experiment trying to guide a mouse through a maze. Luckily we found some big kids to help guide them out. I certainly learned my lesson that day. No more big kid playgrounds, until The P is officially big.
We took 2 more trains to get home and then back in the car again. It was late when we got home and The P was exhausted, but oh what fun!
