Emma-nona

How do you say goodbye to your best friend as they head off across the country to start a new life? Well, you just hope you don't have to. We had our last playdate with Emma today, at least until she comes to visit us at the beach. The movers came and packed up all of their boxes. Emma wasn't feeling so well, in fact she threw up 2 times and couldn't get cleaned up at her house, so she came over for a bath. The P helped her to smell fresh again (at least momentarily).

They played for a while, and then Emma got sick again, and again, and again. Poor thing. "Emma Mama" called the doctor and decided to take her in before they got in the car to drive to Florida. We thought they would be back to say goodbye in the afternoon, but they weren't. Emma had a stomach flu and needed some rest. She got her rest at a hotel and then they were able to get on the road in the morning. We didn't get to say a big mushy goodbye, but maybe it is easier that way. Anyway, I am sure that The P and Emma will be long distance friends for a very long time! (FYI Emma andher family moved to Arizona, or "Emma-nona" as The P likes to call it.)

Oh, and fortunately The P and I escaped the evils of that stomach bug! Phew!

so sorry we didn't get to say a proper goodbye -- but at least this way we didn't have to fuss all over each other. mook misses her maya every day -- and when she looked at this picture she said, "i wanna go in maya's bath." :)
