A failed project...

I was totally gearing up for a big blog-umentary post, but unfortunately my project was a flop. Here's our story...

Back in May The P got a cute little grow your own tomatoes kit in her treat bag from Jake's birthday. We followed the instructions and planted the tiny seeds in the tiny pot...

May 4, 2008- planting (sorry the video is sideways, Daddy refuses to remember that you can't hold the camera sideways for videos)

We kept the pot watered and in the sun and the seed began to grow, and grow...

Soon they were getting too big for the tiny pot and we were getting ready to move, so we brought them down to GiGi and PopPop's and transplanted them in a bigger pot...

June 19, 2008 we "gently" replanted them in a bigger pot.

While we were gone GiGi continued to feed them and they continued to grow. Soon, they were even too big for the bigger pot. So after we moved we brought the plants to our beach house and replanted them in the backyard. And under The P's care and watering they continued to grow, taller and taller...

July 20, 2008 we gave them a new home at the beach house.

They seemed to do well in their new home, so we watered them and watched them grow.

We were so excited! However, one day we realized...although they are getting taller, these tomato plants are not growing any tomatoes. They aren't even flowering. I don't understand the biology of it all well enough to know why the fruit didn't grow. All I know is that the end of this post was supposed to include pictures of our wonderful tomatoes. And instead it's just barren plants :(
