Today was our second day in VT. We woke up and it was 2.2 degrees outside. By the time we got ready for breakfast it made it up to a whopping 4.6 degrees. (Check out the first number in the picture. It's not 46, it's 4.6!)
We made a nice big breakfast, and The P ate berries, a muffin, and eggs. She had to keep her hat on during breakfast because she refused to put on a sweater or socks. She had the option of sweater, socks, or hat and you can see what she chose. (It's all about giving them options, right?)
After we got dressed and ready we decided to take a trip to the Montshire Science Museum. It is about a 30 minute drive from the house, mostly because we have to take back roads to the highway. The museum was great for kids. They had a lot of hands on activities. The P had a good time, but she was getting a little tired and hungry after about an hour.
We made it home without The P falling asleep in the car, and then put her down for a late nap. While she was napping, Adam went out exploring the property. He found a nice place for us to hike up to see the sunset. After we woke The P from her nap (around 4:30) we got dressed in our snowsuits. The P put on her chapstick, and then we headed out.
Adam pulled The P in a sled and I trudged along behind them. We found our scenic view, stopped for a few cookies (or "tooties as The P calls them), and headed back to the house. Hiking around in 2 feet of snow with a 25lb kid (plus snowsuit and boots) is harder than you would expect. We made it back to the house and had a nice dinner, took a bath, and put The P to bed. Her new favorite phrase is "I see snow!"
